The park
At night in El Bosque Encantado: when the lights come on
22 September 20265 min read

There are two experiences in one: the daytime one, with dinosaurs moving among the pine trees, and the night-time one, when darkness falls and El Bosque Encantado becomes a fairy-tale setting. If you have only visited during the day, you are missing half the experience.
How the afternoon and evening work
The rhythm of the park changes with the light (these are the autumn opening hours, when the sun sets at around 19:00; they vary at other times of year):
- Until 19:00: the dinosaurs at Dinolandia are operating. This is the cut-off time for seeing them move.
- 19:30: the lights in El Bosque Encantado come on. Hundreds of warm and colourful lights surround the plant sculptures, streams and hidden corners of the garden.
- 21:00: closing time on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Please note that entry is not permitted in the 40 minutes before closing.

Sculptures made of light
The night-time display is not just about lighting up the plants: along the paths you will find figures made of lights, fairy-tale characters, glowing flowers and animals shining among the trees. The photographs accompanying this article are genuine photographs of El Bosque Encantado; Dinolandia remains switched off at night.

Evening admission
If you are coming just for the night-time experience, there is a separate, cheaper ticket: an adult evening ticket costs 8 €, a concession ticket 7 € and a child ticket 6 €. The child evening ticket allows entry 5 minutes before the lights come on, so little ones can experience the exact moment they light up.
And one detail children love: the coloured torch (6 €), which they can use to call at the little fairy houses hidden in the tree trunks.
Tips for your night-time visit
- Arrive during daylight: ideally, follow the dinosaur trail in the afternoon and stay for the lights to come on. That way, you see both sides of the site with a single ticket.
- Wrap up warm: in the Sierra Oeste, the temperature drops as soon as the sun sets, even in summer.
- Parking is free at night too.
- Pets are welcome, always on a lead, and need their own ticket at night.
