What is Mineralandia? Thousands of minerals and semi-precious stones in Madrid
30 September 20265 min read

When we talk about the complex, almost everyone thinks first of the dinosaurs or El Bosque Encantado. But there is a third space that surprises almost every visitor: Mineralandia.
Thousands of specimens from around the world
Mineralandia brings together a collection of thousands of minerals, crystals and semi-precious stones from deposits all over the planet: amethysts in an almost unbelievable shade of violet, geodes that open like an egg full of crystals, pyrite that looks like gold, quartz as clear as ice and agates with patterns that look hand-painted.
It is not a shop or a little corner: it is an open-air trail among pine trees and rocks, with specimens integrated into the landscape and designed for leisurely viewing, featuring minerals of every size, from stones that fit in the palm of your hand to specimens weighing tens of kilos.

Why children get hooked
Minerals have something that fascinates little ones: they sparkle, have unbelievable colours and shapes that look as though they have been deliberately crafted. It is common to see children arrive dragging their feet («Stones? How boring!») and leave asking whether they can start a collection.
It is also a wonderful way to introduce geology without them even realising: how a crystal forms, why some minerals are hard and others soft, where the colours come from…
The perfect addition to your day
Mineralandia is included in the combined admission ticket, so there is nothing extra to pay and no need to choose: the same ticket lets you visit Dinolandia, El Bosque Encantado and Mineralandia. Our advice is to save the minerals for the middle part of your visit, when the pace slows and you feel like taking your time to look around, and make the most of the morning and afternoon for the dinosaur trail.
A hidden treasure in the Sierra Oeste
If you come to see the dinosaurs, do not leave without stopping by Mineralandia: it is the day's quiet surprise and, for many, their favourite corner of the complex. We look forward to welcoming you, 50 minutes from Madrid.
